March 11, 2016 — Healing HealthCare Systems’ President and CEO, Susan Mazer, Ph.D. is co-presenting a pre-conference workshop on “The Environment of the Patient Experience: Proactive Design in Practice” at the Beryl Institute’s Patient Experience Conference in Dallas on April 13.
Lorissa MacAllister, PhD., AIA, EDAC, President, Enviah, is the other presenter.
From the work of Florence Nightingale to today, the built environment in which patients are treated and await recovery has been identified as critical to patient morbidity and mortality.
Looking at a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding environmental theory, current trends, and the patient experience, Dr. Mazer and Dr. MacAllister plan to engage participants in assessing their own hospitals and healthcare settings, designing interventions that will improve HCAHPS scores, as well as the lived patient experience.
The pre-conference workshop is on Wednesday, April 13th, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. For more information on the conference or to register, visit the Beryl Institute website.
