Why The C.A.R.E. Channel is Still a Work of Mission, Caring, Artistic Excellence
January 10, 2014
I am thrilled to share with you that our production team has completed the update to The C.A.R.E. Channel, which will go to our client hospitals soon. The C.A.R.E. Channel, from conception, is a living, breathing service to patients confined to a hospital, skilled-nursing, or long-term care facility.
The programming is based on research from environmental psychology, facility design, music therapy, nursing, and medicine. Because of that, we produce the video looking at nature through the eyes that will see it — patients and family members, nurses, and other caregivers.
C.A.R.E. programming sees as the human eye sees, not with video tricks, but with the most amazing views of what we normally do not take the time to gaze and reflect upon.
Equally important, the music is original, coming from over 45 composer/artists. Each piece is selected specific to C.A.R.E., and each piece stands on its for its aesthetic excellence.
Although the concept is music and nature, each can provide a rich experience without the other. Because some patients cannot view the television; others have difficulty hearing.
Now serving over 750 hospitals nationwide, C.A.R.E. is still a work of mission, caring, and artistic excellence. When Dallas Smith and I founded HHS in 1992, we brought our talents as musicians and artists.
Now, we have 15 employees who have their own skills, mission, and dedication. I am so proud and grateful that The C.A.R.E. Channel not only serves a community of caring, but comes from one, too.
